I'm catching up...
Hi there... sorry for my 'breaks' in my blogging...
there are so many activities here and all of them are so exciting and fun... I hardly have time to update my blog... That's why i'm doing this on a lazy Sunday afternoon...
So, wat activities were so exciting and nice and kept me busy for the past few days???
So, wat activities were so exciting and nice and kept me busy for the past few days???
OK, the dates and chronology of these events might not follow accordingly... Sorry...
So on Thursday, 2nd Sept, in the afternoon, Putt, Lili, Chye and I played some dodgeball... it's really a cool game... 2 teams of 5 members enter an arena, where balls are lined up in the middle at the start, and all the players are to run from their side to grab the balls on the middle line... after that , the fun begin... If a player is hit by the ball, he or she is out... if a player catches a ball, the player who threw the ball loses and a member of the player who catches the ball comes back into the game...Hope that my explanation helps... try watching the comedy movie: Dodgeball: a true underdog story...
after that, we walked around the central campus and got freebies like frisbee, coupons and stuff...and went to shop for groceries later on... and went back to my room at around 5 plus...
at 6pm, Chia Chye and I went to the new student convocation... it was awesome... The a capella, the performance are well performed , the speeches are simple and nice... and after that, both of us walked to another wonderful activities, namely the Escapade and the Artscapade...

At Escapade, we played games and won prizes, had free food, had lotsa fun and met new friends...I won a mini portable radio, which is not a bad thing, but i prefer a t-shirt instead... nvm... i'd signed up for a dance marathon for charity and some other events too...
after that, we walked to opposite building (the Art Musuem) to join the Artscapade... there, there are rappers strutting their skills, and again, free stuff: posters, book marks, this and that, and lotza fun too...it's about midnight when we reached our room...
Friday, 3rd Sept
Question. Anybody can resist free cold hard cash??? With no strings attached???
I can't. Many of us went to the lawn in front of Michigan League to grab some cash... All we need to go is flash our Mcard(student card), and wait for our turn, and everyone of us will enter a cubicle, the size of a shower room, and with lots of cash inside, and u will have less than 15 seconds to grab the flying cash from the air.... there are several rules though, u can't bend down, u can't grab it from the ceiling, and u can't grab it from the wall either...etc...
so, i was able to grab $10, 10 one dollar bills, and some coupons... it's really hard... but i got my money, who cares...
later in the afternoon, i went to apply for my Social Security Number. And then, went to another awesome activity, the Maize Craze. wat's so cool about this activity... ? again, there's free food, free show and freebies.... hahaha college students...
Met a lot of new friends... and have a lots of fun... This Maize Craze thingy is a pre-celebration of the Saturday football(American Football) games... and the dance team and the cheerleading team are wonderful.
and then, we went to the Bubble tea Bash... Although the bubble tea was kinda lousy...but chatting with new friends was nice...
later that nite, i went to another crazy event : Meijer Madness...
Meijer is a nearby hypermarket, and we had games, competitions and other stuffs there... i'm too tired and lost there, so i just bought a few items and went back... ouch, and i missed a lot of free stuff, nvm... there's always next year.... hahaha
reached dorm at 2am...
Saturday, 4th Sept
Today is a big day for U of M... it is a football day... College Football Saturday... And this is my very first football match in the States...Basically, i know how it goes now but still need to watch several matches to get the core of the game... The freshman quarterback is really good... Chad Henne is tha man... he's only freshman and he can play like a seasoned player... the stadium is so huge... the Big house can hold 110000 ppl... yup it is 110 thousand audience.... and the ticket was a sold out...i didn't get the ticks.... i watched the entire match at putt's room.
later that night, a bunch of us went to the party.... at first , there this back to school fun treats... where there's caricature drawing, which i missed by a few places... and did a D.I.Y. picture frame, and got a palm reading... hey, i was told that i'm gonna be rich... believe it or not?
on top of that, had free food, and at 10pm, the place was transformed into a rock show.... it was too noisy... Kai and I walked Funglin(an ABC who lived in Taiwan) to her room, put our stuff(the pic frame, and flyers), and went back to Michigan League to look for Putt and Cat(another ABC who lived in Taiwan) but they were not there... We went to Michigan Union U Club to join to Glow Zone experience, a glow in the dark dance club experience is really unforgettable...
went back to the dorm at about 2am, exhausted... but wide awake...
watched a really insightful show... Super Size Me... it is really informative... u should watch it too...
it is about how harmful fastfood (unhealthy one esp McD) can harm u... he underwent a torturous 1- month nothing but McD food, and he gained 20 pounds, had high cholesterol, and harmed his liver, and had mood swings, and it took him 4 months to lose those extra weight gained... and 6 weeks of organic products to de-tox.... i think many of them are right... they should 'sue the bastards'....
