1 month...

alright... so, last Thursday, after exam, at about 11am... 5 of us(Keng Yang, Ren Jie, Jin Ye, Kai and I went to Midvalley... so, we took 2 cabs there... after decided that we were going to watch Over The Hedge at 1.30pm, we had lunch at the food court, and went for a short walk at MPH...

the movie was hilarious... after the movie, we went bowling... keke... lotsa laughter there too...

then, we went shopping for stuffs... i bought 2 shirts... (well, need to get ready for my internship starting next monday...(started 3 days ago...)

on Friday, we went up to Genting... played most of the exciting rides...it was fun, but tiring day...

Saturday, went out with frens... yamcha and all...

Sunday... well, it was a rather stress free day, only played DoTA and also played DoTA... :)

Monday... first day of work... got up rather early... at 6am... took a train to KL Sentral, and changed to another to get to KLCC... went up to the 66th floor of the 2nd tower to report to work,... was sent to 65th floor later, then, signed contract, and took a cab to Menara Celcom with Melissa... met Chen Chow there, he introduced us to all the colleagues there... surprisingly, all of them are rather young... and fun... amazing...

learned a lot abt Tel Co industry in Malaysia, and learned a lot about what I will be doing... and I love it a lot... because it's challenging, and it's dynamic, and it's fun...

I had worked for 3 days, and been working rather late(in terms of working hours, but not so in terms of consultant's standard...) so far, i'm loving it... and i really like my colleagues too...
they are a wonderful bunch, and funny bunch... it's always great to work with happy people... positive people... and they are so helpful in answering questions and teaching me and all...

and it's been a month since I'm home... 2 months and 20 more days to go... lol...time's flying... hope that everything will be great... and hopefully, i some how manage to have a short, but nice holiday during the week of break after my internship and before my flying back to the states...

that's about it... have fun... and keep smiling...

So... one more week of excitement...

Well well... so, it's been three weeks since I'm home... everything been wonderful (reads nothing much to do)... well, other than watching DVDs, (i'm limiting myself to one a day), and DoTA and FM, it's been so so(reads consuming 4k Calories a day)...

so, i didn't really go out last week... wait, actually I did... on Monday, where I went down to KL with MinHan, and that's about it... we stopped by at our favorite lunch place at KL (Wah Zai) and also before that, we walked around Low Yat Plaza to kill some time... and to update ourself with the latest computer parts & gadgets pricing...

what else... the next day, my computer's power supply blew up... not really, just that it stopped working, and I suspected that it was the power supply, and rightly so... I should have just go and get a new power supply and save myself the RM30 workmanship charge... bummer...

oh yar... on Friday night, or was it Saturday night, I went to this restaurant down the road, literally and the food was great... and the price wasn't too bad too... and it's only 1 minute of driving.. :)

so, two more days to course FM, and in less than 48 hours, i'll be a Free Man. not really, I'll be starting my internship at Accenture next Monday... will be going out to shop for some clothing right after the exam... coz might be going places on Friday... with the MM gang... i think it would be a pretty impromptuos trip.. Genting?? or just KL tour??

alright for now, i'm sitting right in front of the AC and it's causing me some sinus problem...
ciao

FM... and DoTA...

some of you might be wondering what the heck my title is all about...

well... FM... is just the actuarial paper i'll be sitting in 9 days time.. it's all about financial math... compound interest, bond pricing, loan amortization, what not... funky stuffs... so, in order for me not to rant about it, i'm moving on...

it's been another week since I'm home for summer... nothing much... other than eating a lot more... and sweating a lot more (due to the humit and hot weather), sleeping a lot more, and doing a lot more financial math than usual, it's been pretty much the same...

and DoTA - Defense of The Ancient... it's actually a very popular game, it's more like a map in the game WarcraftIII:Frozen Throne... it's been a long time that i was lured to play that game, but the all-mighty me had been able to overcome the temptation and wasn't baited, but well, after playing 2 nights with my bro and his friends, and getting pawned and owned in every imaginable way, i had enough, and will be starting my dungeon-style training pretty soon... of course, FM comes before DoTA...

and today, my desktop just conked out... i am suspecting the power supply, or just the switch of the casing, it had happened once, so, not surprising for it to be spoiled under my torture... and actually not mine, my brothers, as I haven't been using the desktop much.... i have my laptop with me... and that's pretty much all I need...

well well... other than that, it's really been nothing much... I think I will be finishing about 600 questions of those FM by the end of wednesday... and then, try to do as much as those additional resources which I found online as possible... and then, will try to time myself and all... timing is very important... and since every question carries the same weightage, it would be smart to do the simple ones and leave out the hard and tedious questions to the very last moment...

any interesting stuffs... let me think... not really...

and in order to make up for this rather contentless post, i'll be Cut and Paste-ing this from an email I got from $0.01... (one cent... --> wan hsien)

"The Importance Of Correct Punctuation"

Dear John:
I want a man who knows what love is all
about. You are generous, kind, thoughtful.
People who are not like you admit to being
useless and inferior. You have ruined me
for other men. I yearn for you. I have no
feelings whatsoever when we're apart. I can
be forever happy--will you let me be yours?

One week of food....

So... it's been a week since I'm back at home... it's been great, and I'd definitely gained some pounds... really... damn... Malaysian food is really fattening... definitely in the way i'm consuming them like there's no tomorrow...

So, I think i should dedicated this post to food... yeap... just food... not really.. but a lot of food...
So, I didn't tell you that as soon as I touched down last Monday, as soon as I reached the car actually, I had my Teh Ais...(Iced Milk Tea), and there's a packet of Mutton Nasi Lemak(too bad, no spoon)... so, I had to wait til I was home to consume that packet of rice... that itself was a suffer... but luckily, I wasn't that hungry... the flight meal served on board wasn't too bad... no wonder Cathay was voted airline of the year... good call...

in the afternoon, I went out with my frens (Jia Mean, Chung Yew, Ai Lin, Wen Chiat, and Su Ying... hmmm all girls.... ;P).. had starbucks.. Green Tea Frap... it was rather expensive(relatively..) RM 13.00 for a cuppa... dang...

For dinner.. it was Mom's cooking... amazing...

Tuesday
was sleeping most of the time the next day.. jet lag and my lack of sleep were catching up on me... let me see... I had some leftovers for lunch... which was really good leftover, didn't knew that leftovers can taste so good... Dinner, it was more homecooked food... with love... :)

Wednesday
So... today, as it was my bro's off day... my dad, and both of us went down to Kajang... we had lunch on the way down... it was the Paper-wrapped chicken... amazing... and also the Young Tau Foo (hmm, this is kinda tricky, how should I describe it.. it's vegetable eggplant, chillis, tofu...) with meat fillings...)... it was really good... oh yar, for the record, i went down to Kajang to visit my uncles and aunt... good to see them finally..

For dinner, it was prawn mee... well, it would be shrimp mee actually.. :) anyway, had this at the Asia Cafe... Asia Cafe is owned by the same owner of that of Penang chain in the States... anyway, the prawn mee was really good... with the amount of chilli sauce I added to it, I doubt that it wouldn't be good... :) anyway, i found it amazing that I've yet to encounter a crappy experience (literally)... with such huge amount of spicy food that I'm consuming, I still wonder how could I withstand it, after such a long period of not eating much spicy food in the states...

Thursday
I was kinda losing track what kinda stuffs I've been eating... but I'm pretty sure that I had the ridiculously cheap mixed rice for lunch... with a piece of fried chicken, a piece of pork chop, another meat dish and some eggplants, it only cost RM3.70 (that's slightly over a dollar)...

For dinner, it was more mom's cooking... just too painstaking to go into detail, but it was great... amazing...

Friday
Forgot what I had for lunch... but i'm pretty sure that I had sushi for snack.. or was this yesterday... heck care... it was Genki sushi at Sunway Pyramid... ordered mostly the usual... but unfortunately, they were out of the Inari Potato Salad... so, we only had :Genki Maki, Spider Maki, Spider Handroll, and also the scallop maki...(well, all for the price of RM15 equivalent to $4)... oh my... cheap cheap cheap... (Hate me yet???)

Dinner.. more mom's cooking...:)

Supper... as I need to watch my calories... joking... just that I've not been moving much... and i was actually still full from dinner, I only had a drink.. more Teh Ais... I had it at Tanjung SS14 Subang Jaya, with my frens - Xin yu, Wee li, and his sis, and Min Han and a japanese lady (Wee Li's guest...)

Will be going out tomorrow... bringing Wee Li's guest around...

Saturday
Woke up this morning early, my bro came back from his late shift at about 5.30am... so, he woke me up, and guess what??? we went jogging early in the morning... done at about 6.30am... after bathing and all, he went to bed... dang... I was wide awake.. so, watch an episode of CSI, and waited for 8.30 to come... to go out...

had breakfast(pork noodle... the famous one in KL..near Jalan Bukit Bintang...), and then, we went to KL Tower... after that, we went to KLCC, on the way, we stopped by Pudu area to get some great egg tart from Tong Hee bros... and then, we walked around KLCC, and had lunch at the food court, where we all had fresh mango juice... and I had Naan with mutton and daal... amazing too...

got back home all exhausted... and what not, had dinner, and went to bed at about 10pm... and I knew it...knew what???

Sunday
I knew that I will be waking up rather early the next day... it wasn't too bad, woke up at about 6am... dang... did nothing much... had lunch...mom's cooking.. and then, at about 3 in the afternoon...went to Pasar Malam (Night market.... this is definitely a misnomer...actually it wasn't... it used to be that it started at 5pm... but somehow, it got earlier, and earlier... and it now starts at 2.30pm... anyway, I tagged along just to get my weekly dosage of bubble tea... for RM2.50... that's like $0.75...yup... and no tax... :)

Dinner... more home cooked food... :) well... u can't eat out too often... the MSG and high sodium level, not to mention the grease too, will kill you...

Monday
As Weeli will be going down to Melaka in the afternoon, and my fren Kit Yan just got back from Kubang Kerian, we impromptuosly called for a breakfast session... guess what... BAK KUT TEH (pork in herb soup...) the soup with rice with You Tiau (fried flour dough...it's actually a bakery item... :P) wished I had my camera with me... i wouldn't have to do all the explanation...

after sending weeli to the bus station ... pudu raya... went to 1 utama to catch MI:III... well, the cinema was amazing... the Golden Screen Cinema at the new wing... with THX sound system, Caramel pop corn (no more those microwaved butter popcorn for now...) oh yar... forgot to mention the tix cost RM 6 (that's $1.75)... and the popcorn and drink cost one buck... (sorry dude, for those who are still in the states who are reading this...) this is not unintentionally written, with all the convenient conversion... they are there to serve a purpose... :)

hate me yet??? oh yar... and those in UK... u know who u are.. sorry for not converting the prices to sterling pound... but well, you can always divide the ringgit amount by a painstaking 6.7?... sorry tremayne... hey, hurry up, come back and claim ur Earthquake....(an insane 8-scoop ice cream bowl with many toppings and all)...

Alrighty... that's all for now... i'll keep u updated about my spending... and also my calories count... :)

(oh yar... there's a distinctive lack of food group from my diet... Alcohol... :) well... i think i'm cutting back on that... heck, i'll be losing my hard-trained stamina - of alcohol tolerance that is... but well...need to take care of my liver too)

Just something funny...

Shit Happens...Why???

In the beginning was the Plan. And then came the Assumptions. And the Assumptions were without form. And the Plan was without substance.

And the darkness was upon the face of the workers. And they spoke among themselves, saying, "It is a crock of shit, and it stinks."
And the workers went unto their Supervisors and said, "It is a pail of dung, and we can't live with the smell."
And the Supervisors went unto their Managers, saying "It is a container of excrement, and it is very strong, such that none may abide by it."
And the Managers went unto their Directors, saying "It is a vessel of fertilizer and none may abide its strength.
And the Directors spoke among themselves, saying to one another "It contains that which aids plant growth, and it is very strong."
And the Directors went to the Vice Presidents, saying unto them, "It promotes growth, and it is very powerful."
And the Vice Presidents went to the President, saying unto him, "This new plan will actively promote the growth and vigor of the company with powerful effects."
And the President looked upon the Plan and saw that it was good. And the Plan became Policy.

And that is how shit happens.

One liners...
Beer nuts are a dollar sixty nine deer nuts are under a buck...

No matter how good you are, you are never better at tennis than a wall.

You would be disappointed if you were to type *semen* into the search box, and came up with three pages of polls about basements and advertisements.

If you see a light at the end of the tunnel make sure it's not a train.

More Jokes...
This is a funny coincidence - look what happens if you rearrange the letters of the following words:
• Dormitory – Dirty room
• Desperation – A rope ends it
• The eyes – They see
• The Morse Code – Here come dots
• Slot machines – Cash lost in me
• Animosity – Is no amity
• A decimal point – I’m a dot in place
• Snooze alarms – alas, no more z’s
• Astronomer – Moon starer
• Mother-in-law – Woman Hitler
• Eleven plus two – Twelve plus one
• Election results – Lies, let’s recount

Hey... Guess what? I'm back at home!!!

Finally, i'm back at home... I survived the long-ass flight... and I survived the heat!!!

Status: Recovered from the jet-lag, acclimating to the hot-ass weather, in the mean-time turning nocturnal.

So, i'll try to relate my flying experiences... (no tremayne, no high-flyer's club that sorta thing...)

So, woke up that morning, at about 7 something (another 2-3 hours of sleep night)... after brushing up, and chatting until about 10am...(passed some stuffs to Quang), and I'm ready to go... had my room checked... it was spotless... and then, I sat at the lobby, waiting for my airport shuttle to come... Quang was there to see me off.. thanks dude... i was so freaking tired as I think I had less than 10 hours of sleep in total for the last 3 days... yar... that bad...

anyway... so, i reached the airport at about 11.30am... i got my ticket, and checked in my luggages all the way to Kuala Lumpur... nice... I don't have to worry about my checked in luggages anymore... As I was afraid that the airport security check would take a long time, I decided to get over with it earlier, and hence, I went through the security check right away...

While waiting to board the plane, I had a Quizno Sub... a Chicken Cabanero... pretty nice... and I watched a movie - Star Wreck: The Pirkinning... :) a pretty funny one... and it's an independent movie...

Boarded the plane on time... and left Detroit at 1.55pm...as it was a pretty short flight (from Detroit to Chicago), I did nothing but just stayed awake and decided to sleep in the next flight(if I could)...

Reached Chicago O'hare at about 2.45pm... did nothing much either, my next flight was at 7pm... so, i walked around the airport, looking for something to do... but couldn't find much... and damn... no free wireless internet... so, what can I do??? I settled down in a nice corner, and continued watching the movie... i'm done with the movie at about 4pm... I gave Chang a call... and then, chatted about nothing... and then later... I started watching a NBA match... and then, started reading Animal Farm by George Orwell... a really good read.. but too short... way too short as I was half way done before I boarded the plane... the plane left Chicago for Los Angeles as scheduled... and well... it was an alright flight... didn't really fall asleep, but i was pretty sure I dozed off for like 15 minutes...

reached Los Angeles International Airport at about 7.30pm... wandered around before asking for directions to the Cathay Pacific counter to get my tickets... and then, I was free for another 7 hours... sent a msg to my bro to tell him that everything was fine and on schedule, and then, I was all good.... I was kinda hungry and walked around the airport looking for food... the options was pretty bad... and as I don't feel like eating some bad Chinese/Japanese (expensive too), and I was being cheap and don't feel like tipping anybody, I ended up eating McDonald's... and Ranch BLT Chicken Crispy sandwich... pretty good... i took my own sweet time eating the sandwich... and the fries, and dang... i couldn't kill much time as it was only 9.30pm when I was done... I walked around again, and saw all those cheap alcohol at the duty-free shop... oh my goodness... alcohol is cheap and plentiful... i called Quang and told him about it... we spent a good 15 minutes talking about how ridiculously cheap the alcohol is.. and dang... the sad truth is, I can only bring in 1 litre of alcohol (duty-free) every time... sucks...

so... i couldn't kill much more time and was bored again at about 10pm... i settled down at a bench and started fiddling with my laptop again... after awhile... watching half a movie, I decided that i was not really watching the movie... but was falling asleep too many times, I went to grab a beer from the Sushi Boy... I had a Budweiser(R) - The king of Beers... it was pretty good... probably I was desperate or wat... but, it was good.. I took my own sweet time drinking that, and it was about 12 midnight when i was done... then, I decided to enter the gate that I will be boarding the plane later... and dang.. i regretted for not entering the gate earlier because they have wireless internet here... (provided by T-mobile) and it's free(because of the weekend promotion for T-mobile user)

but after like a good 15 minutes of chatting with a couple of my friends... it was already time for boarding... (well, it was a 747-400, hence, the longer boarding time...) I boarded the plane at about 1.10 am, and it was scheduled to take off at 1.55am... i took a copy of LA Times with me so that I can catch up with the news and got something to read while waiting for the supper... had supper at about 2.45am... and dozed off for 2-3 hours after... woke up and watched a couple of movies, and went back to sleep... and woke up again.. and had breakfast... and all... and 14 + hours later, I arrived Hong Kong Cheh Lap Kok International Airport at 7.30am... underwent another security check at about 7.45am... and reached the next gate to board the final plane to Kuala Lumpur at about 8am... I boarded the plane at 8.20am... and well... it took off at 8.50am as scheduled...

3 hours and 21 minutes later, I'm HOME!!! KLIA... after collected my luggages, as I was ready to meet my parents and all... I was stopped by the Custom officers... and let's just say that i was $20 poorer... (u can go figure those details out...)

it was really great to see my parents and my brother after being away from home for more than 21 months...

so... the food has been great... couldn't be better... and I'm really afraid that i'll be gaining weight... and the weather is really too hot... way too hot for me...
